DFM & Mold Design
We provide a detailed Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis to optimize wall thickness, draft angles, and gated locations before cutting steel.
Machining & EDM
Our CNC and EDM machines precisely cut the mold cavities and cores. We use high-speed machining to ensure surface finish quality.
T1 Sample & Validation
We shoot the first trial samples (T1) and ship them to you for verification of dimensions and fit.
Production & Delivery
Upon approval, we proceed with mass production or ship the export mold directly to your facility.
Mold Making FAQ
What is mold making and when do I need it?
Mold making (tooling) creates the metal molds used for injection molding or die casting. You need it when moving from prototyping to volume production (100+ units) to reduce unit costs.
How long does a mold last?
Rapid aluminum molds are good for a few thousand shots. Fully hardened steel production molds can last for over 1 million shots. We guarantee life cycles based on the steel class selected.
Should I choose a locally produced mold or an imported one?
Molds made in China are significantly more cost-effective. We can run production for you here to save shipping weight, or we can build precise export molds compatible with your local machines.
Can molds be any shape?
Molds need to be designed with parting lines and draft angles to allow part ejection. Our DFM service helps adjust your design to be moldable without compromising functionality.
