LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber) starts as a liquid and is injection molded. It offers faster cycle times and tighter tolerances. Solid silicone is compression molded and is better for simpler parts with lower tooling costs.
Can silicone be overmolded onto plastic?
Yes! We specialize in silicone-to-plastic overmolding. This creates parts with rigid plastic cores and soft silicone exteriors—perfect for grips, buttons, and seals.
What is the minimum order quantity?
For compression molding, we can accept orders as low as 100 pieces. For LSR injection molding, we recommend 500+ parts to optimize the tooling investment.
